5 Questions with Elizabeth Vann

elizabeth vann

Doulos is made up of people who love God and want to see His kingdom grow. We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest team member, Elizabeth Vann! Elizabeth will be working as our Finance and Administration Coordinator. Read on for an interview with Elizabeth, and find out why we’re so thrilled to have her on our team!

Tell Us About Yourself!

I grew up in Mountain Brook, Alabama. After high school, I went to Auburn University for my undergrad and graduate degrees in accounting. After graduate school, I came back to live in Birmingham and began work for Deloitte in 2007.

I worked as an auditor for two years with Deloitte, and then changed direction by taking a job as a property accountant for Colonial Properties in 2009. I enjoyed my time at Colonial, but after having my first son in 2012, I decided to leave my job and stay at home full-time. Now I have three children, Caleb (7 years old), Stephen (4 years old), and Leah Grace (2 years old).

My husband, Jase, and I are high school sweethearts and have now been married for 11 years. He works as a commercial real estate portfolio manager for IberiaBank.

What Drew You to Doulos Partners?

I think the work they do is amazing—I love that their purpose is to build up the church by supporting local leaders in their own countries to spread the gospel. I think people in a culture hearing the gospel from someone in that culture can help further the gospel quickly and effectively.

What are You Most Looking Forward to in this New Position?

Learning the ins and outs of Doulos, as well as hearing firsthand how the gospel is moving forward in countries all over the world.

Outside of Work, What are Your Interests or Hobbies?

I love to travel with my family! I also love anything Disney, and I enjoy reading.

What Else Should We Know About You?

We are active members of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. We also co-founded and lead an outreach ministry to Muslims called 5:9 Ministries.

I have a strong desire for all peoples and nations to hear the gospel, so when this job opportunity came about with Doulos, it seemed like a perfect place for me to be. I am beyond excited to join the team!
