For the past 10 years, we at Doulos Partners have come alongside our partner organizations to empower indigenous church planters and equip them to share the gospel, disciple new believers, and plant new churches. All of this has been done in an effort to spread the word of Christ to the peoples of the world. Our hope is that the next 10 years will be a consistent growth in that same calling.
There is much to be grateful for as donors and friends look back over the last 10 years of God at work in and through Doulos Partners. One way we can see God’s faithfulness is by taking a look at the numbers.
We now partner in 36 countries around the world, spanning 4 continents. Over the course of the past decade, we have seen more than 4.7 million professions of faith and more than 19,000 churches planted for a total cost per profession of faith of $0.70 and a total cost per church planted of $173.25. Because of this commitment to a measurable Kingdom impact, Doulos Partners has been named as a global Top 10 Ministry by ROI Ministry since 2014.
In order to ensure the continued growth of our organization into the next decade, the Board of Directors is taking intentional steps to encourage and mentor a new generation of leaders. Part of this process has led to a restructuring of the organizational leadership, transitioning David Johnson to the position of Founder & CEO while naming Josh Clarke the new President of the organization. These new roles will allow the executive team to continue to think strategically about how to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.
“It is extremely exciting to see how the Lord is bringing next generation leaders to Doulos,” said Johnson. “Should Jesus tarry, the ministry’s future is in very capable hands.”
This commitment to the next generation has also led the Board of Directors to create a Junior Board. This group of 25- to 40-year-old Kingdom-minded leaders is giving of themselves as they help advise the leadership team on a wide range of issues in addition to financially and prayerfully supporting the men and women in the field.
“It is an honor and privilege to work alongside our Board and Junior Board who understand the urgency of the Great Commission and live their lives accordingly,” says Clarke.
The year of 2018 will be filled with a number of celebrations as the ministry gives thanks for God’s faithfulness over the last 10 years and asks His blessings on the years ahead. This celebration will culminate in a Global Gala on August 25, 2018, where indigenous leaders from around the world will be on hand to tell of God’s mighty work to all in attendance.
