Punjab, India:
Please pray for the ongoing trip and our ministry in this northwestern part of India and for the Lord to continue to bless the church planting efforts there. The Indian portion of this region is populated mostly by followers of the Sikh religion, and the regional capital, Amritsar, is the location of the Sikh “Golden Temple.” Just over the Pakistani border, the city of Lahore is the capital of the Pakistani region of Punjab and populated mostly by followers of Islam. Lahore was the location of the Easter Sunday bombing that targeted Christians and killed more than 70 people in a park, mostly women and children. Pray for all the Christians in the Punjab, on both sides of the border, that their light may shine in the darkness and generate praise of the Lord (Matthew 5:16). Pray also for their persecutors (Matthew 5:44). Pray for the boldness and wisdom of all the believers in South Asia, the location of much spiritual warfare directed against them. Pray that we can help our brothers and sisters there bear even more good spiritual fruit.
Give thanks for the recent spiritual and physical healing of one of our newest sisters, Karamjit Kaur. After much prayer, she was healed from severe back pain that she had suffered for 10 years and prevented her from walking properly. The physical miracle also led her to spiritual repentance.
Pray for Sunny Kumar and his wife, who have become followers of Christ and who have a small group meeting in their house. Give thanks for our Brother Naresh, who helped lead them to the Lord. Sunny and his wife are expecting their first child, the answer to many prayers by the believers there.
Pray also for Sonu Masih, a convert who now has led over 230 people to the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to empower Sonu as he shares the Gospel and makes disciples of Christ. Pray for those new disciples to bear fruit as well and to start more and more small groups.
Kitale, Kenya:
Please pray for the workers and the preparations for this July trip that will focus on edifying local leaders and evangelizing the lost. Pray for the effective instruction and training of about 300 Kenyan church planters and their wives. Pray for the marriages and families of these Christian leaders. (1 Timothy 3:1–12) Pray for their new and growing congregations in this part of western Kenya.
Workers in the Fields:
Please continue to pray that the Lord will protect and bless our men and women in the field. Pray also for our domestic development efforts, so that we can deploy even more church planters in all the areas where we are working and in new locations of opportunity as well. Pray for more workers in the fields (Matthew 9:38) and for us all to work together to help prepare, equip and support them.
