Doulos Partners, through a partnership with Big Life Ministries, is helping spread the gospel in India. Big Life Ministries is a grassroots organization dedicated to planting churches and discipling ordinary men and women to reach their own people for Christ.
Why India?
India is in the infamous 10/40 window that includes North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. This area is home to great poverty and the least access to the gospel of Christ.
It is estimated that one person in this window dies every second without ever hearing the name of Jesus Christ. This drives Doulos Partners and Big Life Ministries to shine the Light in this dark place.
1.8 billion people live in India. Most of these people are Hindu or Muslim. More importantly, they are souls that our Heavenly Father loves and longs to be in fellowship with. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing, so we must go and tell the message – letting the whole world hear.
How To Make an Impact?
The focus in India is to disciple ordinary people who will then reach their own people and create more disciples.
Therefore, church planting is the key to any sustainable change in the 10/40 window. Doulos Partners has helped plant 8,331 churches in India that are a source of continued discipleship and evangelism in the country.
Most of the churches planted in India are house churches.
Why house churches?
Any residential space that can accommodate 10-20 people can be a home church, which is not only helpful for the community but also Biblical. Plus, they aren’t as expensive as building a facility, so funds are freed up for other uses. Also, in a place where being ostracized for being a Christian is common, people often feel more comfortable attending a home church.
How Can You Help?
As always, we ask that you cover our teams in prayer. We need prayer that God will open doors to ministry opportunities and the people will have hearts that are softened to the message.
You can also donate. Mission trips can be costly. Training materials also come with a price. Any funds you can donate will go directly toward sharing the gospel with those who desperately need salvation in Jesus, our Lord. Our Board of Trustees pays all administration costs so 100% of our donations go directly to the field!
