Being on the board of directors and junior board at Doulos means having more than just a business interest in the work we’re doing. The men and women who serve on our boards act as our accountability partners and advisors, and believe in everyone working together to carry out the Great Commission.
Each member is tremendously invested in the work God is doing for His Kingdom and is actively involved with each partner where we support church planting efforts all around the world.
Meet Marcus
Marcus Robinson is the newest member of our Junior Board at Doulos. Marcus attended the University of Tennessee, where he met his beautiful wife. Twelve years of marriage and three wonderful children later, Marcus now lives in Atlanta with his family. He’s been teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Atlanta for young families for nearly eight years.
Marcus gave his life to Jesus early on at the age of 4, but it wasn’t until he was 33 years old that he completely surrendered to the Lord. The Lord called him to lay his entire life down for His glory, and to walk with him in a relationship.
At this point in his life, Marcus was already a husband and a father. This radical surrender wasn’t easy. Marcus describes being struck with an onset of anxiety and fear that all hit him at once. But God was faithful. He called Marcus into a closer relationship with Him, and now Marcus says he wakes up every morning thankful that he is saved.
Marcus’ testimony played a big part in his coming to Doulos. He describes it as a natural extension of one of the things the Lord has brought to him—which makes it both exciting and fun!
He was exposed to Doulos through a friend of a friend who invited him to a dinner where he met David and Joshua. “I immediately fell in love with the organization.”
His favorite part about working with Doulos? The exposure to the Lord’s work it gives him:
“My involvement with Doulos gives me exposure to the workers that Jesus is sending out into the world. In America, in upper-middle-class, Christian society, we don’t really experience that harvest being reaped as it is in other places across the world.”

The Harvest is Plentiful; The Workers Are Few
Every member of our board of directors and junior board, like Marcus, understand that we are all called to fulfill the Great Commission beyond our immediate communities. They all have a heart for planting the Gospel in the global community; reaping the harvest our Lord has called us to.
You too can be a part of our organization. When you give to Doulos, you become a part of what the Lord is doing through us: planting churches and spreading the Good News to the ends of the Earth. Find out how you can get involved with our work today.
