Punjab, India:
Please pray for our April trip and for the believers, pastors and church planters in this region in NW India and NE Pakistan. Ask for the Lordʼs blessings and guidance for the hundreds of small church plants we are are supporting in many rural villages there.
Pray that the believersʼ testimonies and living examples will reach the estimated 100,000 daily visitors to the Sikh “Golden Temple” in the regional capital. Ask God to open the eyes of the millions of Sikhs as well as Hindus on the Indian side of the border and the millions of Muslims on the Pakistani side in/near Lahore, that they may see the light of the gospel and hear the “living and powerful” Word. (Heb. 4:12)
Burundi:
Please pray for our July trip to train church planters and evangelists and to preach the Gospel. Ask the Lord to continue giving the increase to the work there and to bless our planting and watering. We experienced over 17,000 professions of faith in Burindi in 2014 and hope the Lord will continue using those individuals to plant and water the harvest fields even more. (1 Corinthians 3: 6-9)
Cuba:
Pray for the 10,000+ churches and 2,700+ church planters in Cuba, where we plan to visit in November. As the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the U.S. will result in a huge influx of American tourists, pray that both Cuban and American believers will take advantage of new opportunities to share the gospel.
Pray also for those blinded by the local voodoo “Santeria” religion and for those new believers still ensnared or confused by its teachings and practices (Galatians 1:7).
Government Leaders:
Please pray for local, regional and national government leaders in all the countries where we work. In many cases, government officials can affect the logistics of our work and in extreme cases, the safety of our partners.
Remember 1 Timothy 2: 1-4: “So I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
And remember Proverbs 21:1: “The kingʼs heart is in the hand of the Lord like the waters of a river; He turns it wherever He wishes.” In particular, pray for Burindiʼs President, who is reported to be a Christian. Ask the Lord to give him wisdom and courage to end the human trafficking, especially of women and girls, in that country.
Individual Requests from our Partners:
In Afghanistan, one of our local leaders recently was killed in a terrorist attack. Pray for his family and for the continuation of the work of this heroic martyr (John 16:1-4).
In Douala, Cameroon, our local leader named Leo has started six small groups since November. Pray for them and also for the believers in northern Cameroon, where Boko Haram terrorists have staged recent attacks. The Lord commanded us to love, bless and pray for our enemies and persecutors (Matthew 5:43-44). So, letʼs pray that the love of Christ will reach modern-day Sauls around the world.
