Martyrs in Afghanistan

In July, we passed along Brother Musa’s report of 105 new believers in Afghanistan. Soon afterward, two of our local leaders there, Brother Habib and Brother Lughhman, were martyred. We have been informed that they were shot and killed just after attending the baptisms of some new believers.

Please thank the Lord for these brave disciples and pray for their families, small groups, and even their killers. Please pray that all of the believers there will continue to act with boldness and wisdom. Please also pray for Brother Musa as he helps to comfort the families and believers in that area and also to train other leaders.

The Apostle Paul wrote that, “I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”  Phil. 3:10-11

Upcoming Trip to Cuba

We are scheduled to lead a trip to Cuba on November 5-12. Please pray for the logistics of this trip, particularly the quick issuance of our religious visas. At least two of our partner groups recently had their mission trips to Cuba cancelled.

Please pray that we will be able to take advantage of spiritual opportunities to preach the gospel, to plant churches, and to train local leaders, even as the island is now experiencing a huge increase in tourism from the U.S.

Josh and Courtney Clarke

Please continue to pray for Josh and Courtney Clarke during their transition and for Josh’s development efforts on behalf of Doulos. Pray also for a buyer for their Tennessee house.

Opportunities to Minister to Muslims Traveling for the Hajj

As many as 2 million or more Muslims are expected to travel to Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage and the subsequent Eid al-Adha festival in September. In recent years, there have been reports of many of the travelers having dreams and visions about the biblical Jesus.

Please pray that many will have the opportunity to hear the gospel and to learn from the Bible and from believers about Christ.

Jesus said, “I have other sheep that are not of this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.” John 10:16
