“Our prayer is that as you see God’s work unfolding before your very eyes, you will be inspired to get involved with us to be his ‘witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.'” – David Johnson, Founder & CEO
For those of you who have been investors in this work for a number of years, traveling to the field is a wonderful opportunity to be able to go and see first-hand the fruits from your giving and prayer support. For those who are new to Doulos, going to the field is a chance for you to confirm your decision to be a partner or to help you make your choice to join Doulos Partners in the work to advance the gospel around the world.
Upcoming Christian Mission Trips
1) Cambodia and Vietnam
Dates: March 1st – March 10th 2019
(Register by January 10, 2019*)
Team Leader: Josh Clarke
Purpose: We will be traveling with our partner, Biglife, to the countries of Cambodia and Vietnam to meet with our church planters in that area of the world. We will be hearing field reports from the church planters about how the gospel is advancing in the region and how the congregations are doing with discipleship and church planting. While there, you will be able to encourage other believers with your testimony, share what God is teaching you, and walk alongside our brothers and sisters learning about their culture and what God is teaching them.
2.) Rwanda- Africa
Dates: June 18th – June 27th 2019
(Register by March 1, 2019*)
Team Leader: David Johnson
Purpose: The Doulos team will join a group from Reaching Souls, to be a part of a vision tour of the work of our national missionaries in Rwanda. This encounter in the field will be a life-changing experience. It will both bless and enrich your life as you get to meet and talk to the national missionaries and to hear some of the things that the Lord is doing in their families, villages, and congregations. You will have opportunities to participate in worship, baptisms, missionary training, open air preaching, orphan care reporting, and powerful testimonies.
Note: We will do a 1-day excursion at the end of the trip on a safari in Kenya. The breathtaking beauty of this country and the wonderful animals that God has created will blow you away. You can never tell, you might even get to walk with lions and ride an elephant. There will also be an opportunity to shop at one of their markets to be able to bring home authentic African souvenirs.
3.) Germany & Austria
Dates: September 20th – September 29th 2019
(Register by July 25, 2019*)
Team Leader: Josh Clarke
Purpose: We will be traveling to these countries to visit refugees that live both inside and outside of camps. This work is part of the partnership between Biglife and Doulos called Global Refugee Outreach (GRO). We will visit with leaders in these countries and see the work taking place. We will not only receive reports as to how the Lord is moving the initiative forward, but we will go inside the camps, where access is allowed, as well as outside the camps to share Jesus, meet physical needs, and to hear their stories.
Our heart is to see as many of these displaced people come to faith in Christ, to be discipled, to a part of a church, and then one day when they get to go home that they will be indigenous missionaries reaching their own countrymen with the gospel. Going on this trip will be a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the early stages of carrying out that mission.
*Registration deadlines are in place to ensure that all visas can be applied for and received in time for trip departure.
What Do We Do On Mission Trips?
What we do on a trip will depend a lot of the destination; however, there are some things that we do on just about every trip:
- Preach/ teach
- Share our testimonies
- Baptize new believers
- Train church planters
- Hear reports and testimonies from the church planters
- Sing, worship with, and pray over the leaders of the congregations
On every trip the participants learn a great deal about a different culture: its language, its history, its food, its traditions, its topography, its successes, and its failures.
If you choose to go with us on one of our upcoming trips, be prepared to be changed and come back convicted, yet inspired.
