At Doulos Partners, we have a diverse team of talented individuals. Each team member uses the talents and expertise God has given in helping us carry out our mission of spreading the Gospel. The Lord has blessed everyone with unique gifts, and our team is a testament to this truth.
Today, we’d like to introduce you to one of our board members: Kevin Halcomb.
Meet Kevin
Kevin grew up in Birmingham, AL and graduated from Hoover High School (then known as Berry High School) in 1994. He attended the University of Alabama where he obtained his degree in accounting.
After graduation, Kevin earned his CPA and took an accounting job with Ernst & Young in Birmingham. After 10 years with Ernst & Young, Kevin took a job with Vulcan Materials Company in their tax department and has been working with them for the last 11 years.
Kevin and his wife, Meredith, have two daughters: Helen (8) and Anne (6). They currently live in Vestavia and attend Mountain Brook Community Church. Both Kevin and Meredith feel blessed to have grown up in Christian homes with God-fearing parents and strive to raise their children the same by God’s grace.
Kevin and Doulos Partners
Kevin was introduced to Doulos Partners through fellow board member and mentor, Thomas Minor, who introduced him to David Johnson.
“Prior to our meeting, I always thought about U.S. missionaries going into the field to spread the Gospel. Hearing that Doulos was taking a different approach by coming alongside indigenous pastors, and in so doing, having better results at a fraction of the cost was an ‘ah ha moment’ for me.”
Kevin and Meredith immediately began financially supporting Doulos and, over time, became more and more involved with our organization. When asked what he was looking forward to most about working with Doulos Partners, Kevin shared his excitement about being able to contribute to the team by using the gifts the Lord has given him: “What’s awesome to me is that the Lord introduced me to a mission where I can use my talents as an accountant to assist with administrative tasks that help to further the Gospel. In that way, I feel like I am valuably living out the Great Commission.”
We are blessed to have faithful and talented individuals like Kevin on our team!
Using Your Talents and Treasure For the Lord
Every one of our team members understands the gravity of the Lord’s call in the Great Commission and actively seeks to use their skills and abilities to help make disciples of all nations.
While not all of us are called to use our professional skills like Kevin, there are still plenty of ways each of us can contribute to the furthering of the Gospel message. We can still give of our time, talents, and treasure by whatever means the Lord is calling us to. If you are interested in partnering with Doulos or supporting indigenous leaders, contact us today!
