Pastor Amani's Survival Story
Hear the story of Pastor Amani, a faithful pastor and church planter who endured a brutal kidnapping and attempts on his life. He faced violent opposition when he obeyed the Lord’s calling to leave his hometown and go to a different village to lead a body of believers there.
That church now has grown from a gathering of three people to 270! Amani has also trained 24 church planters who are starting other churches in the region. Praise be to God!
Psalm 23:1-6

"Jamal's Journey of Faith in a War-Torn Country"
“In January, Jamal (pseudonym) and his team went to a mountain region to share the good news in their community. They didn’t just want people to believe; they wanted to help them become followers of Jesus.
As they traveled, Jamal spoke about love and faith. Amazingly, 60 people decided to follow Jesus because of what they heard. To show their commitment, 15 were baptized, a special way of saying they were starting a new life with Jesus, and 45 are being discipled.
The story didn’t stop there. Jamal knew it was important to help these new believers learn more about Jesus and grow in their faith, so he started teaching and guiding them on this new journey.
In two regions, where the landscapes were different, but the hearts were the same, Jamal continued to be a mentor, helping people understand more about Jesus and what it means to follow Him.
As time passed, the people became like a big family, all because of Jesus’ simple message of love and faith that Jamal was sharing. His journey wasn’t just about getting people to believe, it was about helping them become lifelong followers of Jesus, creating a positive change that would last.
Amidst the arid sands of the desert, where water seems scarce and people are coming into faith, our dedicated disciple makers have found a creative solution to carry out baptisms. In regions dominated by other religions, where the thirst for acceptance of Jesus Christ runs deep, a makeshift baptismal pool emerges from the earth. A hole is carefully excavated and lined with polythene paper to hold the precious water poured within. Individuals come forward to declare their faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ and are baptized to symbolize their spiritual rebirth.
In addition to baptism, these faithful followers also come together to share a special meal symbolizing their unity with Jesus (Communion). They break bread and drink a small amount of wine, representing Jesus’ body and blood. This act brings them closer to Jesus and each other, even in the desert’s vastness and isolation.”
Thank the Lord for Jamal and his boldness in sharing the Gospel and making new disciples of Christ in very challenging circumstances. Thank you to our ministry partner, New Generations, for recently sharing this report with us.
